Brunei Amateur Swimming Association (BASA) was founded on 30th March 1970 as a non-profit association to promote aquatic sports, especially swimming in Brunei Darussalam. Its current name Brunei Aquatics was adopted in 2025. Brunei Aquatics is a member of World Aquatics (WA), Asian Swimming Federation (AASF) and South-East Asia Swimming Federation (SEAF).

The objectives of Brunei Aquatics include:

• To actively promote, foster, and advance the practice of Swimming, Diving, Water Polo, Artistic Swimming, Open Water Swimming, and related aquatic activities within Brunei Darussalam.

• To take the lead in orchestrating aquatic events encompassing Swimming, Diving, Water Polo, Artistic Swimming, and Open Water Swimming.

• To extend support and engagement in national, regional, or international competitions involving Swimming, Diving, Water Polo, Artistic Swimming, Open Water Swimming, and other aquatic activities.
